Today I started the day out VERY tired. I was feeding my baby boy and surfing Facebook on my Ipod, so I set my status as something like "I can't wait til my baby is older and I can get more sleep"...to which two of my friends replied "Now is the time for a bed time routine...!" And "My son goes to bed at 6 everynight..." I was SO taken aback that it's a reality for some mommies to get some alone time with their husbands earlier than midnight! I have been exhausted and frankly stressing myself out trying to find a routine for Connor. I keep putting it off thinking it'll happen when he's older..but tonight without even trying, and before I read their comments he happened to fall asleep around 6:30. He's STILL asleep and although he's on the couch for now, tomorrow I'm laying him in his crib and we are beginning our routine!
The next part to my introduction, and the reason I began this blog, is because I was taking my "Sanity Bath"...the time I get all to myself everyday...and reading those comments on Facebook, and also checking my email. I had an email from Diapers.com saying for every friend I refer, they get $10 off their order, and so do I! I started thinking...the way my mind is geared right now is towards money saving, making it through my husbands Masters Degree on a limited budget, and raising my new baby. It can be pricey to have a new baby at home, and it is SO fun to get out of the house on long days when you are a stay at home mom! In the winter weather it's hard to do anything...so often I find myself shopping. Not at a mall, we don't have one here...but at Walmart, Walgreens, and the grocery stores. I LOVE saving money! And I feel like a rockstar when I do! So...since I've had many requests to share my secrets, here's to my second attempt at blogging my savings! Hopefully this will go better than the first...since I'm a lot more passionate now, and have more specific interests!
Let me tell you-saving money is a JOB..it can take time and effort...but why not??? If you have a lot going on at home, then stop by every now and then for some easy tips. If you are like me and you are constantly online finding good deals, then look no further! I am here to help!
Also, I want to have weekly posts on mothering advice. I will take questions from readers and post them weekly and you fellow mothers can post your feedback. It will be a good way for us to connect with people we know..and those who we don't! Mothering can be a lonely job, but it's great to know there are SO many of us out there doing the same thing day in and day out! Right now I can count about 10 mothers in the same stage of motherhood I am!
So tell your friends and family, and let's have fun saving and learning together!

Great blog, Kirst! I'm excited! Also, have you read Babywise? It's an excellent book with a very "do-able" schedule for baby. Ali kinda started it on her own, we just kept it going. I really feel like we've had such a happier baby/girl since she has a schedule. We like schedules...good luck, my dear! I love you!
ReplyDeletelove it, kirst! i'm not quite there yet... um, don't have a baby yet.. haha.. but i'm going to stop by every now and then just to see what great advice I can store up for when the time comes for me to be in that stage as well! :)
